Evaluation procedure for the Feri EuroRating Award
Two evaluation methods are used for the Feri EuroRating Award depending on the category. In addition to a minimum volume, the prerequisite for an investment fund to participate in the selection process for the Feri EuroRating Awards is to be freely accessible for private investors. Whereas the special prize in the “Fund Innovations” category is awarded by a committee of fund experts, the evaluation of the funds in the other investment categories is conducted at two levels according to specifically defined methods.
At the quantitative level, all of the funds in one peer group are evaluated according to their Feri Rating as well as their performance during the previous twelve months. Then the five best investment funds in each category are nominated for the respective Fund Award. At the second level the funds are additionally subjected to a qualitative evaluation, which incorporates - among other things – facts pertaining to the fund managers themselves as well as to the realisation and design of the investment process. The requisite data are collected by means of a questionnaire and analysed according to a standardised catalogue of criteria. If necessary, the responses of the companies are verified in interviews. The overall evaluation is the result of the weighted total of all quantitative and qualitative evaluation components. The investment fund with the highest score is selected as the best fund in the corresponding category.
